Description
Each session prepares the candidate to take the exam to obtain the Swiss license, categories A, motorized boats of more than 8 HP.
To take the exam, the candidate must master different maneuvers: make a U-turn in a narrow channel, enter a mooring place in forward and reverse gear, dock a pontoon on starboard and port in forward and reverse gear, take a buoy, recover a man who has fallen into the water, anchor, know 8 nautical knots, determine a course on the nautical chart, take a bearing, apply different safety rules on board, etc.
The course and examination boat is a 5m50 Littoral Alu equipped with a 100 HP outboard engine.
All maneuvers are done in the port with the exception of “man overboard”, you must demonstrate good control of the boat and its speed at all times. The exam takes place on board the same boat, a SAN inspector comes to Port Choiseul from May to October, during the other months the exams are scheduled at Eaux-Vives.
We only offer 1h1/2 courses in order to avoid too many appointments (travel) and to have time to work on all the maneuvers in each session.
